Introducing Our New Collection: Beach Inspired Scents

I’m always on the lookout for ways to shake off the winter blues. Lately, I’ve been dreaming of sunny, warm beach getaways, which sparked the idea to make some tropical and beach-inspired candles to bring a taste of summer into my home, even when the snow and temperatures are dropping outside.

Paradise Island

Imagine white sand, turquoise waters, delicious conch fritters, and refreshing drinks by the beach. Once you’re in the Bahamas, you’re immediately in vacation mode! The Bahamas has something for everyone, whether you’re seeking total relaxation and indulgent pampering, eager to discover new places and cultures, or looking for a family-friendly spot with exciting activities like thrilling water slides and swimming with dolphins, not to mention the must-do activity- swimming with pigs!

Where I am mentally right now.

We’ve had wonderful family memories at Atlantis on Paradise Island over the years, including celebrating our beautiful Abuelita’s 90th birthday with my husband’s entire family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and their kids, what a treat!  What I truly love about Atlantis is feeling pampered and relaxed, knowing there’s always something fun to keep my three energetic boys entertained.

Inspired by the relaxing and indulgent vibe of Paradise Island, I created this scent. It’s a delightful blend of Bright Citrus, Coconut Milk, Agave, Sandalwood, and Tonka bean, the ultimate tropical summer scent! Golden Isles

Just off the coast of Georgia, you’ll discover the Golden Isles! They’re famous for beautiful natural landscapes, beaches lined with driftwood, lots of fun outdoor activities, and community events. Plus, they have a super welcoming town vibe. The Golden Isles are made up of four barrier islands: Jekyll Island, St. Simons, Little St. Simons, and Sea Island. It’s the perfect place to experience Southern charm. Imagine Spanish moss-covered oaks at golden hour, relaxing days on the beach, golfing, boating, and biking. When my family visits, we always have a blast with family-friendly activities like Summer Waves water park, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, and mini golf and swimming.

When my kids were little and we lived in Florida, I would take them up to the mountains of North Carolina to visit my grandparents. They had a lovely home nestled in the mountains of Newland, and it was the perfect place to escape the summer heat and humidity of Central Florida. Since my husband was working, I would often take the kids on the long car ride on my own, which, as anyone with young kids can relate to, more than four hours in a car was about our limit. That’s how we first discovered Jekyll Island, exactly four hours from home, and the halfway point between my house and the mountains. It became a summer ritual, and we immediately fell in love with the natural beauty, the history, the relaxed atmosphere, and we looked forward to it every year. Eventually, we made the short drive over to St. Simons, and after a few years, going to the Golden Isles became an annual summer vacation in its own right. We love it there! We love visiting the same places over and over, such as: Red Bug Pizza, Summer Waves, Neptune Pool, the mini golf, the Coast Guard museum, Driftwood Beach, and South Dunes are always on the list, and if we can only do a short visit, we aim to do as many of these as possible.

This scent was inspired by the love I have for the Golden Isles, for the Southern charm, the hometown atmosphere, sun-washed beaches, and golden hour at its best. Infused with notes of Peach (a nod to the Peach State) and Black Tea, Sunny Citrus, Marine, and Rose and Lavender, as well as Teakwood and Amber, this scent is divine! I paired it with a gorgeous Peachy/Champagne glass tumbler, to complete the look. I’m so very proud of all of the candles I make, but this one in particular is very special to me because the place that inspired it is also very special to me.

Côte d’Azur

When I picture the Côte d’Azur, I immediately think of Nice, France. I imagine unwinding on a rented sun lounger, shaded by one of those iconic blue and white striped umbrellas, enjoying a glass of rosé and munching on fresh fruit, all while soaking up the sun and watching the world go by. I picture pebble beaches and sailboats gliding by. I think of the brilliant light (the south of France’s light is truly special) and leisurely strolls along the Promenade des Anglais, and dining al fresco at Cours Saleya (bouillibase followed by a Calvados digestif—a meal I still cherish, even though it was twenty years ago!).

The relaxed and indulgent vibe of Nice and the French Riviera sparked this scent. With notes of Marine, Fresh Melon and Fruit, Jasmine and Lily, and warm Sandalwood, it’s as lovely as the place that inspired it. I’ve paired it with a Turquoise glass container, echoing the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean.

All the photos from the Golden Isles and the Bahamas are my own. The last time I was in Nice, I was too young and clueless to snap any photos, and this was before smartphones! I had my very first point-and-shoot digital camera for that trip. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long! Time really does fly! I suppose that means it’s time to plan a trip to the French Riviera! In the meantime, I can enjoy this candle and daydream of Nice!
